Cordless Drill-Driven Pump Accelerates Centralized Grease Refilling
Industrial fluid technology leaders Lutz Pumps and Woerner have introduced a joint maintenance solution engineered for heavy equipment, mining machinery, and commercial fleet applications: a cordless drill-driven pump for centralized lubrication systems.
Marketed as the LubeDrive by Lutz Pumps and the Power Fill Pro by Woerner, the unit utilizes an eccentric screw pump powered by a standard commercial cordless drill. Operating directly from grease containers up to 180 kg (NLGI 2 grease), the pump delivers up to 2 kg of grease per minute into onboard automated lubrication reservoirs.
The tool addresses key operational pain points in heavy fleet maintenance—namely the physical strain of manual hand-lever grease guns and the elevated procurement and waste disposal costs associated with individual 400-gram cartridges.
"Manual grease guns are time-consuming and lead to repetitive strain. Cartridges are often more expensive to procure, store, and dispose of than bulk containers," said Andreas Frank, Sales Manager at Eugen Woerner GmbH.
"With the LubeDrive, actual filling time for a ten-machine maintenance run drops from roughly 80 minutes to about 10 minutes," added Andreas Rössler, Sales Manager at Lutz Pumpen. "Switching to bulk containers can also lower grease management costs by up to 40 percent."
For Canadian fleet managers, quarry operators, and heavy-duty equipment mechanics, the drill-driven pump provides a portable, low-effort tool to streamline preventative maintenance routines in remote job sites and shop bays.
