Delco Remy Marks 130 Years of Commercial Electrical Innovation

Industrial component supplier PHINIA is celebrating the 130th anniversary of its flagship electrical brand, Delco Remy.

The historical milestone highlights the operating longevity of a foundational heavy-duty commercial vehicle aftermarket asset, widely utilized across long-haul transit networks, agricultural systems, and vocational industrial equipment.

Over the past decade, Delco Remy has distributed more than 24 million starters and high-output alternators throughout the Americas. Backed by 172 active component patents, the brand’s anniversary comes alongside a strategic corporate outlook confirming sustained capital investment toward internal combustion engine (ICE) electrical systems to support commercial freight logistics.

“Demand for internal combustion engine-powered vehicles remains resilient particularly in heavy-duty and long-haul segments, where electrification still faces significant practical and infrastructure challenges,” stated Mike Coetzee, VP and General Manager, Americas, PHINIA. “In response, we are continuing to invest in our portfolio, expand our capabilities, and strategically position Delco Remy to capture growth opportunities.”

For fleet administrators and commercial service bays, this long-term component backing reinforces specialized parts availability and consistent remanufacturing supply chains critical for driving fleet uptime metrics.
