Greater durability with Conti HSR 5 EP and HDR 5 EP
Continental’s rollout of the Conti HSR 5 EP and HDR 5 EP tires delivers double-digit mileage gains to reduce total cost of ownership for regional fleets.
Continental has launched the Conti HSR 5 EP steer tire and Conti HDR 5 EP drive tire, expanding its Generation 5 regional haul lineup. Engineered for stop-and-go regional routes and changing weather conditions, the tires target key operational bottlenecks by optimizing wear life, rolling resistance, and retreadability.
The HSR 5 EP steer tire features a five-rib tread design and optimized footprint that yields an estimated 22% improvement in removal mileage compared to its predecessor. Complementing it, the HDR 5 EP drive tire incorporates an open-shoulder pattern with stone-ejection technology, delivering a 19% increase in tread longevity while maintaining low rolling resistance to cut fuel expenses.
For commercial fleet operators, enhanced casing durability directly improves retread potential, allowing multiple casing lives to suppress overall cost-per-mile metrics. Both all-weather models are available in core regional haul sizes starting in October 2026, with additional size offerings planned through 2027.
