NAFA’s Ontario Local Networking Group Hosts First Social of 2023

On Tuesday, April 25, the Ontario Local Networking Group, part of the NAFA Midwest Region, hosted a special Social and Baseball Event.

Speaking with Imran Mohammed, Vice President, Business Development, for BDS Fleet Service and key member of the Ontario Local Networking Group, the event represented the first time, since 2020, that local NAFA members had the opportunity to meet up in person.

The Pint Public House, at 277 Front Street West, in downtown Toronto was the chosen venue, with 80 attendees registered for the event. Additionally, NAFA CEO Bill Schankel and Director of Membership, David Johnson; also made the trip up from the U.S. to meet with local members and provide an update on the changes happening at NAFA.

Well-received

“The event was very well received,” stated Mohammed and those who attended really enjoyed the opportunity to get out and meet up for a proper social event. Following food and cocktails at the Pint, attendees then had an opportunity to take in the evening’s Major League Baseball game at the nearby Rogers Centre, were local favourites, the Toronto Blue Jays, faced off in their game final against the Chicago White Sox. Outstanding pitching by the Jays resulted in final tally of Toronto 8, White Sox 0. It was certainly a great way to end the event!

Now that local networking groups are back in action, more events are planned. For Ontario, Mohammed told us about the possibility of a round table event, breakfast, or coffee type socials as well as (potentially) golf tournament in September. “We will be planning follow up and feedback from everyone that attended on April 25, and to try to get a pulse on future events for this year.”
