Sensata Technologies Offers an Aftermarket Radar for Commercial Vehicles

Sensata Technologies offers an aftermarket radar system designed to eliminate blind spots for commercial trucks and construction equipment.

This product is part of the PreView Sentry radar range. These radars are designed to detect obstacles and moving objects that may not be visible to the operator. The Sentry 79 version, operating at 79 GHz, is designed for close-range applications. It can detect up to 64 people or objects simultaneously within a range of 30 centimeters to 40 meters.

The device is linked to a detector installed in the cabin, which illuminates the area where a person, bicycle, or any other obstacle enters the vehicle's blind spot. An alarm will also sound in case of an imminent impact. Designed for use in harsh conditions, the radar housing is pressure-washable.

While the PreView Sentry 79 version is perfectly suited for detecting obstacles in front and behind the vehicle during maneuvers, Sensata offers other solutions to cover all four sides of vehicles that require enhanced vision.

In fact, this safety technology is easy to install and complements the factory-installed safety systems on commercial vehicles, as well as heavy and specialty trucks.
