Bosch Expands Heavy-Duty Portfolio with New Components
Aimed at shortening maintenance cycles and boosting fleet utilization rates for commercial transport operators, Bosch has introduced a broad expansion of its commercial vehicle product and software ecosystem.
Previewed ahead of Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, the release leverages Bosch’s original equipment (OE) development channels to supply replacement parts, steering systems, and software tools to the heavy-duty aftermarket.
1. Expanded Commercial Replacement Parts Portfolio
Bosch is adding multiple high-wear component categories to its commercial vehicle catalog:
- Coated Disc Brake Pads: Engineered for heavy trucks, trailers, and transit buses, featuring a specialized friction surface coating that accelerates the bed-in process with the brake rotor.
- Urea (DEF) Filtration: Two new urea filter references for third-party AdBlue injection architectures (Cummins-Hilite systems), protecting dosing valves in Mercedes-Benz Actros, DAF, and Scania commercial applications.
- Aerotwin J.E.T-Blade Wiper Technology (Available Sept. 2026): Features integrated washer fluid nozzles directly in front of the blade, eliminating spray mist and improving driver visibility under severe climate conditions.
- Auxiliary Belt Drive Components (Available Nov. 2026): New V-ribbed belts, tensioner pulleys, and idler pulleys built for continuous high-load operations.
2. Electrohydraulic Steering & Rear-Axle Steering Systems
Addressing modern commercial vehicle chassis requirements, Bosch showcased its Servotwin electrohydraulic steering platform. By integrating electric power assistance into proven Servocom hydraulic steering, Servotwin enables active driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicle preparation. The electric motor backup also allows emergency steering functionality without requiring a secondary hydraulic loop.
Additionally, Bosch introduced an electrohydraulic rear-axle steering system available starting August 2026. An electronic control unit (ECU) calculates rear wheel angles based on front steering input, driving a hydraulic pump and cylinder to significantly improve turning radius and maneuverability in tight commercial distribution spaces.
3. ESI[tronic] Truck and Off-Highway Diagnostic Ecosystem
On the software front, Bosch highlighted updates to its ESI[tronic] Truck and OHW (Off-Highway) diagnostic software. Used in tandem with the KTS Truck interface, the modular platform provides maintenance data, schematics, and step-by-step troubleshooting procedures for over 18,000 vehicle models across 600 global brands. The software also incorporates Secure Diagnostic Access protocols to bypass protected OEM cybersecurity gateways during service.
For North American fleet directors and heavy-duty repair shops, Bosch's unified product strategy streamlines parts procurement and diagnostic procedures across diverse commercial vehicle assets.
