Volvo Unveils All-New VNX Tractor Architecture
The debut of the redesigned Volvo VNX provides heavy-haul fleets with remote maneuvering technology and EPA 2027-compliant powertrains engineered for severe-duty applications.
Volvo Trucks North America has introduced the all-new VNX vocational series, designed specifically for heavy-haul, logging, mining, and severe-duty construction environments. Positioned as the manufacturer's premier vocational flagship, the tractor integrates updated chassis geometry, factory-installed telematics, and advanced driver-assistance safety suites.
Under the hood, the VNX utilizes the proven D13 engine platform, delivering up to 540 horsepower and 1,950 lb-ft of torque with full EPA 2027 emissions compliance. A key technological feature is the "Remote Steer" system, which allows operators to maneuver the truck at speeds up to 5 mph from outside the cab using external controls. The interior features a bodybuilder-friendly cab passthrough, configurable control iconography, and extended visibility profiles designed to minimize jobsite damage.
For North American fleet managers and specialized motor carriers, integrating factory telematics via Volvo Connect streamlines real-time diagnostics and fuel tracking across heavy gross combination weight (GCW) operations. Start-of-sales dates for the updated VNX platform will be announced later this year.
