GM Reverts Envolve Brand Back to GM Fleet

General Motors has officially retired the GM Envolve name, returning its fleet business to the more familiar GM Fleet branding, a move that signals a renewed focus on clarity and continuity for commercial customers across North America.

The Envolve name was introduced in 2023 as part of a broader effort to modernize GM’s fleet and mobility services. Back then, GM said in a news release that GM Envolve would be “a one-stop customer experience, designed with input from customers and dealers to make it easier to tap into all the products and services GM has to offer.”

At GM’s annual Fleet Solutions Summit that year, Steve Carlisle, Executive Vice President, and President, North America at the time, unveiled the GM Envolve branding, noting that GM Fleet is being reimagined as a one-stop B2B/B2G partner.

Fast-forward to 2026, and GM is bringing back the trusted name fleet professionals are more familiar with. The GM Fleet brand carries years of equity in the industry, and it reinforces trust while streamlining communications with customers.

In a statement to media, GM offered the following comment: “General Motors is updating the name of its commercial business from GM Envolve to GM Fleet—a name that more clearly reflects our purpose. This change reaffirms our commitment to delivering trusted vehicles, connected technologies, and exceptional service through a brand that’s instantly recognizable and aligned with the customers we serve every day.”

The change is effective April 13, 2026.
