NAFA: Regional Restructuring Update

Last month’s Board meeting saw the appointment of the new NAFA 2023 Board of Directors and brought optimism and excitement for the upcoming year in fleet and mobility industry.

The expert fleet professionals and skilled individuals that make up the Board will be instrumental in the continued evolution of NAFA to expand its member value as the industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace.

Volunteers are critical as NAFA transitions to a new regional governance model in 2023 intended to increase opportunities for members to get together locally to develop relationships and learn with and from each other.

Regional Council and Local Networking Groups

The Regional Councils will consist of a team of peers from various areas of the region who will work together to identify the priorities for meeting the needs of the members in their region as well as setting the course for activities, allocating funds, and serving as a contact to the national organization. The LNGs will include existing groups (such as NAFA Chicago, NAFA New Jersey, etc.) and new LNGs built to facilitate the development and operation of a local presence for NAFA. There has already been an interest expressed for the creation of a new LNG for the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

The Board was presented with slates for the new Regional Councils that will be announced soon and officially kickoff at NAFA’s Institute & Expo in Baltimore this April.

What to Expect

Some small changes are already noticeable as NAFA rolls out its new regional governance model. Its website and emails are calling out opportunities to get involved in regions and local networking groups as opposed to chapters. While the changes in language may be slight, the impact on the ability of all members to have a better membership experience no matter where they work will be significant.

I&E will be an opportunity to get to know members of one's region, meet the Regional Council leaders, and find out more about how to get involved at NAFA’s booth.

More information will be released in the coming months.
