Show Highlights: Big Trucks & Bright Ideas
With more than 500 exhibitors at Truck World 2026, visitors had so much to see and do. Here are a few of the new products, innovations and technologies that caught our eye as we walked the show floor.

One of the new tires on display at this year’s show was the Bridgestone W920 on-highway drive position radial, which promises to deliver 17,000 km more than one of the brand’s major competitors. The W920 is 3PMS-certified, which makes it ideal for our Canadian climate. Moreover, the non-directional pattern simplifies mounting, rotation and tire management for fleets.

Designed for easy maintenance, better uptime, improved fuel economy and lower emissions, the X15 integrates seamlessly with the Eaton-Cummins Endurant transmission.

2026 marked Ford’s debut at the Truck World sho, and the company made quite a splash with not one, but two separate displays. One of Ford’s booths was decked out to celebrate the fact that the Ford F-Series is marking its 60th consecutive year as Canada's best-selling truck. The second showcased Ford’s electrified offerings, including an upfitted E-Transit.

The Freightliner booth showcased the 5th generation Cascadia, complete with advanced aerodynamic features designed to help fleets cut fuel costs: A-pillar deflectors and a new bumper with air ducts, boosting fuel economy by 1.9%, according to a company spokesperson. The 5th gen Cascadia also comes with Detroit Assurance with ABA6—the latest in active safety systems.

Hunter Engineering came to the show with a range of equipment, all designed to cater to the needs of the heavy-duty truck world. Each piece of equipment is part of Hunter’s integrated system, designed to guide a truck and trailer through a seamless workflow, starting with Quick Check Commercial, which generates a report of each truck’s condition, including alignment and the condition of each tire.

Hyundai’s hydrogen-powered truck, the XCIENT Fuel Cell, was on display at Breadner Trailers’ booth. Instead of a tradition ICE engine, the XCIENT comes with two fuel cells and three battery packs. While in motion, the truck uses either hydrogen power, battery power or both (when under heavy load). Total expected range is about 725km, and it can take as little as 20 minutes to “fill up” the truck.

Volvo displayed a number of their trucks at this year’s show, including the all-new VNR. Designed specifically for regional haul operations, the next-generation VNR has been engineered to be especially maneuverable, and features a comprehensive redesign focused on enhanced safety, improved fuel efficiency and a more comfortable, driver-centric cab environment.
