Snap-on Acquires Diesel Laptops for $100 Million

Snap-on has officially announced the acquisition of Diesel Laptops for approximately $100 million.

Based out of Irmo, South Carolina, Diesel Laptops specializes in advanced diagnostic platforms, proprietary repair database information, and integrated digital solutions engineered specifically for commercial trucks and off-highway vehicles. The company is a key operational partner for heavy-duty repair facilities, commercial fleet operators, and specialized industrial segments.

The high-profile acquisition significantly expands Snap-on’s technical capabilities across the heavy-duty transportation, mining, agriculture, and construction infrastructure markets. By onboarding Diesel Laptops, Snap-on substantially strengthens its corporate library of proprietary, experience-based diagnostic data, bolstering its ongoing software offerings to support field technicians servicing increasingly complex electronic vehicle systems and multi-brand commercial assets.

Moving forward, Diesel Laptops will operate as a dedicated division within Snap-on’s corporate Repair Systems & Information Group. For fleet maintenance managers and independent truck repair shops across Canada and the United States, this strategic consolidation unifies premium hardware architecture with specialized commercial vehicle software, signaling long-term stability and expanded software development pipelines for heavy-duty diagnostic equipment.
