2027 Toyota Sequoia Targets High-Margin Adventure Buyers

Enhanced trailer-assist automation and factory-built overlanding packages enable Canadian Toyota dealerships to capture lucrative full-size SUV transaction prices against domestic competitors.

Toyota Canada has introduced the 2027 Sequoia, refreshing its full-size flagship SUV with factory-engineered overlanding trims and an upgraded electronic trailer assistance suite. Standardizing the i-FORCE MAX 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain producing 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque across all trims, the three-row hauler delivers a maximum towing rating of 4,137 kg (9,121 lbs) and arrives at Canadian dealerships in autumn 2026 starting at $91,250 MSRP.

For Canadian dealer principals, general sales managers, and commercial fleet leasing directors, the addition of dedicated off-road equipment directly targets market share traditionally held by domestic full-size nameplates. The newly introduced Trailhunter grade brings Old Man Emu suspension hardware, Michelin all-terrain rubber, and underbody skid plates straight from the factory, while the TRD Pro trim gains driver-adjustable FOX QS3 dampers. Operationally, the new Trailer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (TADAS)—incorporating automated trailer dimension detection, dynamic backup steering guidance, and extended blind-spot monitoring—significantly reduces collision risk for recreational towers.

Spanning eight distinct Canadian vehicle configurations across seven- and eight-seat layouts, the lineup tops out with the TRD Pro model at $109,851 MSRP ($113,509 estimated vehicle price). Delivering integrated off-grid capability straight off the transport carrier provides dealership sales departments with strong gross-margin retention while capturing accessory revenues that typically migrate to independent aftermarket restyling shops.
