Toyo Tires Introduces the New M177+, a Steer Tire for Commercial Long Haul

Toyo Tires® announces the all-new Toyo® M177+™ long haul steer commercial tire. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the M177, the M177+ features a new decoupling groove design that defends against irregular wear to extend wear life. Toyo Tire’s proven cap compound and deep tread combine high fuel efficiency with long, even wear. E-balance technology enhances retreadability and casing durability to deliver maximum removal miles for long-haul operations.

The M177+ provides excellent performance and safety thanks to a five rib, four groove design that evacuates water to maintain traction. This industry proven tread design with deep sipes and multi-pitch grooves delivers enhanced wet and dry traction while reducing road noise. Paired with the tire’s deep tread, differential ribs in each groove, and E-balance casing to minimize the growth of the tread profile which maintains a uniform, flatter tread radius throughout the life of the casing. A high-elongation top belt is incorporated to protect the casing integrity and promote maximum retreadability.

“The M177+ increases irregular wear resistance and improves final removal mileage through a new robust shoulder design,” said Ian Hart, commercial tire development engineer, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. "The M177+ went through extensive field testing in nationwide fleets and has proven itself to retain all of the trusted features of the M177 that our customers have known, while providing increased performance."

The new M177+ commercial tire sizes will be produced in 22.5- and 24.5-inch wheel diameters and be available starting December 1, 2025.
