2025 / 2026 Kia K4

Fuel-efficient, roomy and particularly well-priced, the Kia K4 sedan ticks a lot of boxes for many fleets. This compact sedan has above-average interior room, and plenty of space for all passengers (even those in the rear seats), as well as their cargo.

Available in five trims, the K4 comes with two engine options. The standard 2.0-litre engine makes 147 hp and 132 lb.-ft. of torque, while the 1.6-litre turbo makes 190 hp and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. The latter, of course, if more fun to drive, even though it consumes just a bit more fuel.

According to Natural Resources Canada, the 2.0L engine, which is a bit more fuel-friendly is rated at 8.4/6.0/7.3 L/100km (city/hwy/combined), while the turbocharged powerplant is rated at 9.2/6.6/8.0 L/100 km (city, hwy, combined).

Safety features

One of the strengths of the K4 is the focus on safety. All trims come well-equipped with a host of safety features, including key ADAS technologies (Advanced Driver Assistance System) like smart cruise control, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, and more.

In addition, the K4 has been recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as a Top Safety Pick+ with “Good” ratings in all crashworthiness categories. Moreover, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the K4 a 5/5 overall safety rating.

Welcoming passenger cabin

Spacious and well-appointed, the passenger cabin is inviting and a pleasure to spend time in, even on longer road trips. Heated front seats are standard equipment, as is a 12.3-inch multimedia interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Cloth seats are standard on lower trims (LX and EX), while higher trims come with synthetic leather seats. A heated steering wheel is standard on all trims, except the base LX. Heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and an acoustic laminated windshield are standard on higher trims.

2026 model year

Earlier this year, Kia announced that they’re introducing a K4 Hatchback model for 2026. Available with the same two engine options, and all the creature comforts and safety systems that come with the 2025 model, the Hatchback is a great option for fleets that want all the features the K4 sedan has to offer, but would prefer more cargo space. In fact, while the sedan has 413 litres of cargo space, the Hatchback boasts more than 628 litres, behind the rear passengers.

With a starting price of $26,590, generous interior room, a well-appointed cockpit, loads of safety features, and the latest tech, the K4 offers a value proposition that’s hard to ignore.
