2025 / 2026 Nissan Rogue

One of Nissan’s most popular vehicles, the Rogue steps over from the 2025 model year into 2026 virtually unchanged, except for the addition of a rugged Rock Creek trim for the new year.

Upscale interior

The Rogue’s big selling point is its upscale interior, quiet passenger cabin, and smooth ride. Five can sit in comfort, and the Rogue boasts a decent cargo capacity of 36 cubic-feet when the second row of seats is occupied, and over 74 cubic-feet when the seats are folded flat.

A heated steering wheel and heated front seats are standard equipment (heated rear seats are available). All trims get dual-zone climate control (tri-zone is available on higher trims), rear-seat HVAC vents, a cargo cover, and cloth seats (leather and leatherette are available on higher trims).

Although Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard equipment, you’ll have to climb up the trim ladder to get the wireless version of both, along with Google built-in with Google Maps, Assistant and Play Store, a head-up display, a Bose premium audio system with 10 speakers, and a larger digital gauge display and touchscreen display for infotainment functions.

Powertrain features

Nissan offers a single powertrain for the 2025/2026 model years: a 201-hp 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine coupled to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). All trims come with all-wheel drive, and all feature five drive modes: Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow and Off-Road.

This 1.5L engine may not be the most potent, but it is fuel-friendly. According to Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) the Rogue is rated at 8.4/6.7/7.6 L/100km (city/hwy/comb), and in our real-world testing we managed to get 8.6 L/100km (comb).

While the Rogue wasn’t engineered for red-light races or ego trips, it does have ample power for day-to-day driving, including highway maneuvers. The engine is also very quiet, which only adds to the comfort and serenity of the passenger cabin.

Nissan’s Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Control is standard across the trim spectrum, further adding to the comfort of the passenger cabin by allowing the driver to pre-heat or pre-cool the interior, as well as activate the heated steering wheel, heated seats, and the window/rearview mirror defroster, when needed.

Safety

The 2026 Rogue comes with a comprehensive list of passive and active safety systems and technologies, including key advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features.

Nissan's Safety Shield 360 is standard, and includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.

The rogue has also been recognized with a Top Safety Pick rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and with an overall safety rating of five/five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Roomy and refined, the 2025/2026 Rogue makes daily commutes more bearable, and longer road trips a delight. The quiet and comfy passenger cabin isa pleasure to spend time in, and the fuel-efficient powertrain limits the number of stops you’ll have to make. No wonder it’s one of Nissan’s best-selling vehicles, and a fleet favourite.
