Best Fleets to Drive For Opens 2027 Nominations
Addressing shifting freight market dynamics, CarriersEdge opens nominations for its 2027 Best Fleets to Drive For program to benchmark carrier driver workplaces.
As North American freight markets shift following extended rate pressure, Best Fleets to Drive For, produced by CarriersEdge, has launched driver nominations for its 19th annual program. The evaluation identifies for-hire motor carriers delivering top-tier workplace environments for company drivers and independent contractors.
For fleet executives, safety directors, and HR managers, the evaluation framework offers structured benchmarking across compensation, benefits, operational support, safety performance, and driver turnover metrics.
“Fleets have spent the last several years finding ways to support drivers while operating under tremendous cost pressure, and now there are signs that the market is changing again,” said Jane Jazrawy, CEO of CarriersEdge. “Providing a great workplace is a smart business plan in any market and the fleets that have focused on building a strong culture are best positioned.”
The program is open to for-hire fleets operating 10 or more tractor-trailers in Canada or the United States at no participation cost. A single driver nomination submitted prior to October 31, 2026, qualifies an eligible carrier to complete the audit process.
“Best Fleets has always been about recognizing great workplaces, but participation also gives fleets an opportunity to look closely at what they're doing for drivers and where they can improve,” Jazrawy added. “The ideas we uncover also help move the whole industry forward.”
Evaluations incorporate detailed management questionnaires, corporate interviews, and comprehensive driver surveys. The program will recognize its Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For, Fleets to Watch, and Hall of Fame inductees during its Education & Awards Conference on April 5–6, 2027, in Kansas City, Missouri.
