Limited range
That said, there’s a price to pay for being so cute and compact. With limited cargo and people space, as well as a range of only 227km (according to NRCan), the 500e may not be the ideal choice for fleets (or consumers) that need more range or more space.
The good news is that it can be charged using a Level 3 85-kW fast charger. This means you can add 50 km of range in as little as five minutes. The 500e also comes with an 11-kW AC-DC on-board charger for use at home or on the road, with an estimated charge time from 0-100% of 4.5 hours when plugged into a Level 2 (11-kW) charging station. Charging can also be scheduled through the 500e’s Uconnect system, or with the Fiat mobile app.
Driven by a single electric motor that powers the front wheels, the 500e makes 117 hp and 162 lb.-ft. of torque. Stellantis says that’s enough to get the 500e from zero-48 km/hr (not 100 km/hr) in under three seconds. Even so, it’s peppy and spirited enough to make the driving experience engaging.

Available with an array of the latest safety technologies including Active Lane Management System, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, Drowsy Driver Detection, Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, Intelligent Speed Assist and Traffic Sign Information, the 500e is well equipped to keep road warriors safe when they’re on the go.
