Canada Hits Major EV Milestone

Canada has officially achieved a significant transportation milestone: over 1,000,000 electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids are now registered on the nation's roads.

The announcement, shared by Electric Mobility Canada, underscores the dramatic acceleration of EV adoption over the past decade. The count has surged from just 18,000 EVs in 2015 to 200,000 in 2020, culminating in the current seven-figure total as of December 2025.

In just ten years, the number of EVs on Canadian roads has seen a remarkable 56-fold increase. This exponential growth signals a clear trend: electric mobility is rapidly becoming the dominant future for Canadian transportation.
