Compact & Well-Equipped

Kia’s latest introductions pack a lot into a compact package.
As Kia’s family of vehicles continues to grow and evolve to satisfy the tastes and needs of today’s consumers and drivers, the brand is introducing new models to the Canadian market that are sure to appeal to fleet customers.
Officially revealed to the public at the 2025 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto, the EV5 – slated to arrive in 2026 - has been dubbed “the compact SUV designed for the masses.” This electric vehicle (EV) offers a comfortable passenger cabin, ample cargo space and a price tag designed to, “break down barriers to entry as the industry transitions to more electric vehicle ownership,” David Sherrard, Director of Strategic Planning at Kia Canada explained during the EV5’s debut.
Exclusive to the Canadian market in North America, Kia pointed out that the EV5, “is intended to accelerate the adoption of EVs by overcoming the affordability barrier that exists within the automotive landscape.” In short, the EV5 is meant to be the value leader in this segment of the market.
The EV5 is expected to arrive in Canada in 2026 with two battery size options: a standard range 60.3 kWh and a long range 81.4 kWh. It will be available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, making it suitable for all types of driving styles and weather conditions across Canada.
Kia K4
Available in Canada since October 2024, the Kia K4 is a compact sedan equipped with a long list of modern must-have technologies, including a 12.3-inch multi display and four-inch cluster, LED headlamps, smart key with push button start and remote engine start, plus Kia Connect with Over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities.
Key Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are also included as standard equipment, and include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
The K4 offers more rear headroom and legroom than what is typical for the compact sedan segment, and it’s available with the choice of two excellent powertrains. The standard 2.0-litre engine produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque, is coupled to an intelligently variable transmission (IVT), and offers excellent fuel economy numbers: 7.9/5.8/7.0 litres/100km city/highway/combined.
A more potent powertrain is also available. The 1.6-litre, turbocharged engine (featured on the GT-Line trim) makes 190 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and offers equally impressive fuel economy numbers: 9.2/6.6/8.0 litres/100km city/highway/combined.
Kia notes that particular attention was paid to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) through the use of an available acoustic windshield, and acoustic tires on K4 models with 18-inch wheels. This translates into a particularly welcoming and relaxing passenger cabin, making it ideal for longer road trips.
