Toyota breaks new ground with its all-electric C-HR
Toyota Canada Inc. has announced Canadian availability for the 2027 Toyota C-HR, expanding its zero-emission lineup with an all-electric compact crossover starting at a base MSRP of $44,895.
Positioned as Toyota’s most accessible battery-electric vehicle in Canada, the 2027 C-HR is built on the e-TNGA architecture featuring a low-mounted 77-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The vehicle is available in three distinct model grades across two powertrains :
- SE FWD: Front-wheel-drive single motor producing 221 system horsepower with an estimated driving range of up to 496 kilometers.
- XSE AWD & XSE Premium AWD: Dual-motor electronic all-wheel drive generating 338 system horsepower, delivering 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.2 seconds and up to 452 kilometers of range (438 km on 20-inch wheels).
The C-HR features a native North American Charging System (NACS) port, enabling 10% to 80% DC fast-charging replenishment in roughly 30 minutes under optimal conditions. For added infrastructure flexibility, standard equipment now includes J1772 and CCS charging adapters.
