ACT Expo 2027: Tackling Escalating Commercial Fleet Operating Costs
With diesel prices lingering near historic highs, the conference provides Canadian fleet operators with concrete powertrain data to protect thin operating margins.
Organizers of the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo have opened early registration and unveiled the programming for their 2027 gathering, scheduled for 17 to 20 May at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The international commercial transport forum will host more than 400 exhibitors and showcase over 200 light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles alongside commercial vehicle technology developers.
For Canadian commercial fleet executives, maintenance directors, and logistics dispatchers navigating cross-border routes, controlling total cost of ownership has become urgent following US on-highway diesel spikes that averaged a record $6.53 USD per gallon in September 2026. The technical agenda focuses heavily on vehicle-to-mission suitability, comparing traditional diesel refinements, renewable natural gas, battery-electric platforms, and hydrogen fuel cells against strict capital allocation limits. Furthermore, workshops will dissect the implementation of artificial intelligence in telematics to curb unscheduled downtime and improve driver safety metrics.
According to ACT Expo founder Erik Neandross, deploying next-generation powertrains has evolved from a regulatory compliance exercise into a fundamental business requirement for maintaining commercial carrier solvency. In addition to earning continuing education credits endorsed by the NAFA Fleet Management Association, Canadian attendees can participate in closed-course ride-and-drive evaluations to verify real-world vehicle handling, charging parameters, and range claims prior to issuing major capital procurement tenders.
