At IAA Transportation 2026, Daimler Truck unveiled its latest commercial vehicle platform developments, marking 130 years of truck manufacturing. Highlights include the public debut of the battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros Lowliner for high-volume logistics, the liquid-hydrogen NextGenH2 Truck scheduled for a 100-unit customer evaluation fleet, and the new Powerliner diesel engine family.
For commercial fleet directors, logistics operations executives, and equipment procurement managers, the product strategy balances operational total cost of ownership (TCO) against European carbon-reduction mandates. Daimler Truck leadership reiterated that achieving EU 2030 CO₂ reduction goals remains directly tied to Europe-wide megawatt charging infrastructure deployment and grid capacity.
Alongside the vehicle launches, the manufacturer expanded its digital ecosystem with the TruckCharge infrastructure program, updated its active safety systems with Active Cross Traffic Assist, and established its dedicated Daimler Truck Defence business unit.
