ExpoCam showcases multiple solutions for commercial fleet managers

ExpoCam Montreal took place from February 6 to 8 at the Palais des Congrès.

Held biennially, this trade show brought together heavy-duty truck manufacturers, equipment suppliers, parts and service providers, as well as a specialized conference platform, all under one roof.

An estimated 10,000 industry professionals visited the show, which featured more than 250 exhibitors.

At the conference platform, commercial fleet managers and transportation company executives could learn more about energy transition.

Fleets & Mobility spent several hours touring the exhibition. Manufacturers Mack, International, Volvo, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, Western Star, and Isuzu showcased their latest models. Among the diesel-powered heavy-duty trucks, there was a notable offering of electric vehicles, including the medium-duty Rizon and the hydrogen-powered Nikola. Telematics solution providers were well-represented.

Manufacturers are increasingly providing access to their vehicle data to help optimize fleet managers' operations. These specialized firms can custom-tailor strategic indicators needed by managers to maximize vehicle utilization.

Accessory and replacement parts suppliers were also courting visitors. Their message focused on the importance of a well-structured preventive maintenance program and the use of quality replacement parts. Downtime due to roadside breakdowns is an aggravating factor in pursuing efficiency targets.

A dedicated maintenance area, the ExpoCam Garage, featured immersive equipment demonstrations. This technological showcase was aimed at both managers and mechanics.

It's worth noting that this major commercial transportation industry gathering also included a recruitment component. Some exhibitors displayed that their companies were actively seeking personnel.
