Ford Pro Expands Commercial Powertrain Warranty

Ford Pro is strengthening its value proposition for North American businesses by announcing a major expansion of its warranty coverage. During Ford Pro’s Fleet Preview event in Las Vegas, president Alicia Boler Davis unveiled a reinforced promise of reliability and value that will see the expansion of its robust 5-year/160,000-kilometre limited powertrain warranty in Canada (5 years/100,000 miles in the U.S.).

Starting with the 2027 Model Year, this enhanced protection will cover all Ford commercial products. The expanded lineup includes the Explorer, Maverick, Ranger, Bronco Sport, Expedition, and the all-electric E-Transit van. Electric and performance models are also included, as the Mustang Mach-E, the Mustang (excluding the GTD), and the Bronco (excluding the Raptor) will now benefit from this standardized coverage. These new additions join 2022 and newer model year trucks and SUVs that already carry this warranty, including the F-150, the Super Duty lineup (F-250 through F-600), the Transit, F-53/F-59 stripped chassis, and the E-Series.

For commercial buyers and fleet managers, this initiative delivers clear financial advantages, starting with a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). By minimizing unexpected repair costs on major powertrain components, the extended coverage helps keep fleets running efficiently and predictably on the road.

Additionally, this action is expected to provide a significant boost to resale value. Unlike many traditional commercial warranties in the industry that expire upon transfer, Ford Pro’s limited warranty stays with the vehicle. This means that if a fleet vehicle is subsequently sold to a non-fleet customer before the coverage expires, the remainder of the warranty transfers to the new owner. Through this strategy, Ford aims to solidify its ongoing commercial vehicle market leadership across both Canada and the United States.

To qualify for this unique benefit exclusive to Ford Pro customers, commercial accounts simply need to register for a Fleet Identification Number (FIN Code) and purchase the eligible vehicles under a "fleet" sales type.
