Kumho Re-Engineers Truck and SUV Catalog Under Road Venture Banner

Addressing the shifting dynamics of the North American automotive fleet—where light trucks, crossovers, and SUVs now command 80% of new-vehicle sales—Kumho Tire has updated the marketing and distribution architecture for its signature Road Venture light truck product lines.

The strategic alignment deploys a simplified nomenclature matrix and clear application boundaries to streamline consumer selection at the retail counter.

The updated light truck portfolio consolidates into four dedicated vocational segments:

  • Road Venture HT (Highway-Terrain): The newest addition to the lineup, engineered for primary on-road use. It features a next-generation high-dispersible micro-silica polymer compound that boosts tread life by 10% compared to previous models. Crucially for cold-weather regions, the HT features an EV-compatible internal structure to manage heavy battery-electric vehicle (EV) torque while securing official Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) winter certification.
  • Road Venture AT52 (All-Terrain): Designed to balance highway manners with dirt and gravel traction. The tire integrates deep siping sequences and an aggressive shoulder design, retaining a 3PMSF severe snow rating.
  • Road Venture RT (Rugged-Terrain): Functions as a hybrid option slotted between standard all-terrain and dedicated mud-terrain profiles, delivering high off-road durability without triggering severe cabin noise or tracking drift on dry asphalt.
  • Road Venture MT71 (Mud-Terrain): The maximum-traction vocational tire engineered for severe rock and mud applications, relying on high-void tread blocks and integrated stone ejector bars to prevent casing damage.

“Tires are one of the most important safety components on any vehicle, yet many consumers find the tire shopping process overwhelming because of the sheer number of options available,” stated Carolina Wagner, Vice President of Marketing at Kumho Tire.

This streamlined catalog reduces inventory lookup complexities and provides service advisors with a clear, performance-differentiated tiering system to drive seasonal utility sales.
