Rizon Hands Over First Electric Trucks to Canadian Customers

Daimler Truck subsidiary Rizon announced its first official handover in Canada, delivering an e18L electric truck fitted with a dump body to Villamar Construction in Victoria, British Columbia.

This does not mark the completion of the order, however, as an additional 18 units fitted with various bodies, including dry boxes, service bodies, and landscape dumps, will be delivered to customers across British Columbia and Quebec in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Rizon writes that its electric trucks qualify for $75,000 CAD at the point of sale under the federal iMHZEV Program, as well as additional provincial incentives.

“This handover marks a significant step for Daimler Truck in bringing zero-emission commercial vehicles to Canadian businesses,” said Andreas Deuschle, the Global Head of RIZON Truck. “Commercial EVs are no longer a future concept—they’re here, hitting the road and serving in communities across Canada. We congratulate Villamar Construction on leading the charge and look forward to seeing RIZON trucks drive the growth of zero-emission transportation nationwide.”

Rizon only launched its business in Canada in 2024 and offers four model variants for the Canadian market, including the e16L, e16M, e18L, and the e18M. The vehicles come “with a versatile mix of configurations and options suitable for each customer’s unique requirements,” with options ranging from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds in gross vehicle weight. In terms of range, the trucks can drive as far as 257 km with an L size variant with three battery packs, or up to 177 km for M size variant with two battery packs.
